The car was delivered new in Vintage Burgundy (X) and was resprayed in the 1980s following an aLident, aLording to the seller. Features include a black soft top, chrome-finished bumpers with guards, Ford lettering across the hood, and 260 fender badges.
Ventilated 14″ wheels wear beauty rings and smooth center covers, and they are mounted with 195/75 Gillette whitewall tires. Work in February 2021 included replacing the brake master cylinder, all four wheel cylinders, the brake shoes, and a steering coupler.
The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench with black vinyl upholstery. A full-length console separates the front seats, and the faded black carpeting is protected by rubber liners. A Mustang-branded cassette player is mounted in the factory location.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a horizontal 120-mph speedometer flanked by fuel-level and water-temperature gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles, approximately 45k of which are said to have been added since 1976.
The 260ci F-code V8 was delivered new with a two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 164 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in February 2021 included rebuilding the carburetor and replacing the fuel pump as well as the output-shaft seal for the transmission.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
