This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible was acquired by the current owner in 2010 as a partially completed project. This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible was acquired by the current owner in 2010 as a partially completed project. Subsequent work included refinishing the car in two-tone black and blue over black, fitting a powered black soft top, and installing a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 and a six-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a Yukon limited-slip differential, aftermarket 19″ and 20″ wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, coilover suspension front and rear, power seats and windows, R134a air conditioning, aftermarket console switchgear, and a custom sound system. Approximately 2,700 miles have been added since completion of the project, and service in 2020 is said to have consisted of replacing the tires and changing the oil.
The car was refinished under current ownership in two-tone metallic blue and black with a gold pinstripe separating the colors. Features include body-matching bumpers, a front lip, a rear spoiler, and RS-style headlight assemblies.
Gloss-black five-spoke 19″ front and 20″ rear wheels are mounted with 245/35 and 275/35 Nitto NT05 tires over Baer disc brakes with cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The tires are said to have been replaced in 2020, and coilover suspension is utilized front and rear.
The custom interior features power-adjustable bolstered seats with black upholstery. The console and door panels have been redone to match, and body-color aLents trim the doors. An array of buttons has been added to the console to control the windows and the top. Additional amenities include air conditioning with R134a refrigerant and a JBL audio system with an amplifier mounted in the custom-upholstered trunk.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a body-color dashboard with a black top pad. The custom instrument panel houses six AutoMeter gauges including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer. The digital odometer shows approximately 2,700 miles.
The 6.2-liter LS3 V8 was ordered through Berger GM Parts Warehouse in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and part number 19301360 corresponds to a crate engine rated at 525 horsepower. Hooker exhaust headers, color-keyed engine covers, and an aluminum radiator have been added along with billet hood hinges and supports. The oil was changed in 2020, and the seller states that the car would benefit from dynamometer tuning.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a six-speed T56 Magnum manual transmission.
