Shifting is through a five-speed manual transmission, and other modifications include 14″ Panasport wheels, Euro-style chrome bumpers, Bilstein shocks and struts, Suspension Techniques HD springs, BMW 2002 tii-style front brakes, Recaro front seats, VDO auxiliary gauges, and a JVC head unit.
The car was refinished in red under current ownership and features contrasting black side moldings as well as bright-finished belt line trim. Exterior modifications include slimmer Euro-style bumpers with rubber guards, Vitaloni Tornado side mirrors, a sunroof wind deflector, and a rear spoiler.
Panasport 14″ wheels are mounted with 195/60 Falken Azenis RT615 tires showing 2018 and 2019 date codes. BMW 2002 tii-style struts, wheel bearings, and brakes have been added up front, while larger brakes from an E21 320i are fitted out back. Suspension modifications consist of Bilstein shocks and struts as well as Suspension Techniques sway bars and lowering springs.
The cabin features Recaro front seats upholstered in black and red cloth with ‘fishnet’ headrests as well as a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl, matching door panels, and salt-and-pepper carpets. A plastic dashboard cover and custom wood console have also been added along with a JVC CD stereo and carpeted floor mats.
A three-spoke Grant steering wheel frames instrumentation including a 7k-rpm tachometer and a 120-mph speedometer that has been converted to electronic operation. Aftermarket VDO gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are located in the center console. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles.
The 2.7-liter M20 inline-six is said to have been sourced from an E30 BMW and installed in the 1980s. The seller states that a 325i-sourced 885 cylinder head was installed approximately two years ago, and triple 40mm side-draft Weber carburetors were fitted at this time. Other work under current ownership reportedly included replacement of the timing belt, water pump, clutch master cylinder, and various engine seals.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
