This 1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe was inherited by the seller from her father in 2012 and subsequently underwent a body-off cosmetic refurbishment, which included a repaint, rust repair, and a replacement soft top. Power comes from a 201ci L-head inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission, and the car is equipped with painted wire wheels, leaf spring suspension, running boards, a vinyl bench seat, and a rumble seat.
The Sport Coupe variant of the Model A features two doors, a stationary soft top, and a rumble seat. The body of this example was removed from the frame and repainted yellow and black, reportedly following the installation of a replacement fender as well as rust repair in the floors, inner fender, and rumble seat compartment. A replacement canvas top was also installed and additional exterior features include a chrome grille surround and bumpers, Ford-branded running boards, and handles to aid rumble seat aLess.
Body-colored wire wheels are mounted with whitewall tires that are said to have been recently installed, and a matching spare is affixed ahead of the driver’s door. Braking is handled by drums at four corners, and the car rides on a leaf-spring suspension.
The bench seat has been recovered in maroon vinyl, and matching upholstery extends to the door panels and rumble seat. Black carpets line the floors, and additional equipment includes a four-spoke steering wheel and chrome door handles and window cranks.
The central instrument panel houses a barrel speedometer, an ammeter, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 2k miles.
The 201ci L-head inline-four is equipped with a single carburetor and sends power to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. Mechanical recommissioning in April 2021 is said to consist of an electrical system refresh, an oil change, and a tune-up.
