This 1983 Porsche 928S is finished in black over brown leather and is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is said to have been sold new in Massachusetts and spent several years in Rhode Island prior to the seller’s acquisition in 2018. Additional equipment includes a sunroof, a rear wiper, front and rear spoilers, a European-market intake and throttle body, a custom exhaust, 928 S4 brakes, and 18″ alloy wheels. Service in 2018 included replacing the timing belt, water pump, radiator, and hoses, and work in 2019 involved overhauling the transaxle, reupholstering the front seats, and replacing the rear main seal, clutch, shocks, wheel bearings, and carpets.
The exterior is finished in black and features a power sunroof, pop-up headlamps, color-matched side moldings, front and rear spoilers, and a rear hatch with a wiper.
Silver-finished 18” alloy wheels wear gray Porsche-crest center caps and are wrapped in 235/40 front and 275/35 rear Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires that were installed in 2020. Work performed in 2019 included replacement of the shocks and wheel bearings as well as a four-wheel alignment. The suspension is equipped with adjustable front and rear drop links, and the brake system has been modified with components from a 928 S4 including Porsche-branded multi-piston calipers at each corner.
The cabin is trimmed in brown leather with a matching dashboard as well as contrasting beige side paneling and replacement carpets. The front and rear seats were reportedly reupholstered in 2019 and feature embroidered Porsche-crest headrest logos. Additional equipment includes a Continental head unit with Bluetooth functionality, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power aLessories, and brown and beige Coco Mats. The driver-side power window motor was replaced in 2019, and the seller notes that the air conditioning does not work.
Factory VDO instrumentation includes a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 67k miles.
The 4.7-liter V8 features electronic fuel-injection and has been fitted with an induction system from a later European-market 928. The car also features an adjustable fuel-pressure regulator along with a high-output alternator, ceramic-coated headers, and a custom stainless steel exhaust system. The timing belt, water pump, radiator, and fuel injectors were replaced in February 2018, and service in May 2019 included replacement of the rear main seal.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle that was overhauled in January 2019 by Formula Motorsport of Long Island City, New York. The clutch and clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced in May 2019.
