This 1971 UAZ-69A was reportedly used by the Soviet military before it was imported to the US and acquired by the seller in 2020. The truck is finished in olive drab over black vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 2.1-liter gasoline inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Features include a black soft top and side curtains, a driver-side spotlight, a folding windshield, and driving lamps. A replacement starter and generator were installed under current ownership.
The Model 69 truck was designed and built by Gorkovsky Avtomobilnyi Zavod (GAZ) from 1953 until 1956 after which production was continued by Ulianovsky Avtomobilnyi Zavod (UAZ) until 1972. The 69A variant was equipped with four removable doors. This example is finished in olive drab and features dual taillights, a black soft top and side curtains, a driver-side spotlight, a folding windshield, and driving lamps. A hi-lift-style jack is mounted to the front bumper.
The 16″ steel wheels are finished in black and are mounted with military-style bias-ply tires that show cracking in the sidewalls. The Model 69 featured live axles with leaf springs and shock absorbers at all four corners. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features seating for five via individual front seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl. A passenger grab handle is fitted to the steel dash, and the battery is mounted underneath the driver’s seat. A three-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation including a 100-km/h speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 45k kilometers (~28k miles).
The 2.1-liter gasoline inline-four was shared with the contemporary GAZ-M20 Pobeda sedan, and was factory rated at 55 horsepower. A replacement starter and generator were installed by the seller
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
