This Dodge Shelby CSX is example #002 out of 750 produced for the model year and is finished in black and gray over gray cloth. The CSX was the result of Shelby Automobile’s partnership with Dodge and is based on the contemporary Shadow model. Power is provided by a turbocharged and intercooled 2.2-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, a rear spoiler, 15″ alloy wheels, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller acquired the car in June 2020 and has since conducted service including replacement of the clutch, fuel lines, fuel filter, battery, and tires along with a fluid service, wheel refurbishment, and tachometer repair.
The CSX can be differentiated from the Dodge Shadow by its unique front and rear valances, side skirts, and rear spoiler. This example is finished in two-tone black and gray divided by a blue trim stripe, and additional features include sport mirrors and Shelby graphics.
Silver 15″ alloy wheels were reportedly refinished and fitted with a set of 205/50 Kuhmo Ecsta PS31 tires in October 2010. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features front bucket and fold-down rear seats that are upholstered in grey cloth, along with matching door panels and carpeting. Amenities include air conditioning, a center console, Shelby-branded floor mats, and door sill plates. Tears are present in the fabric on both driver and passenger seats.
The four-spoke Shelby steering wheel frames a 125-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, voltage, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 78k miles.
The 2.2L inline-four is equipped with a Garrett turbocharger and an intercooler which helped produce a factory-rated 175 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. A fluid service was performed in July 2020, and the fuel lines and fuel filter were replaced in August 2020.
Power is sent to the front wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual transaxle. The flywheel was resurfaced and the clutch, transmission seal, and right CV boot were replaced under current ownership. Corrosion is visible on underbody components and in the spare tire well.
