The supercharged DOHC 4.6-liter V8 features a cast iron engine block, aluminum cylinder heads. and an oil cooler. Output was rated at 390 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque when new. An oil change was carried out in 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.55:1 gears.
