The body is finished in Schwarz (086) and is equipped with M5-specific front and rear spoilers, a sunroof, and foglights with H3 bulbs. The seller states the body was repainted under previous ownership, and the trunk seal was replaced under previous ownership after rust was repaired in the area. Cosmetic flaws are described as a crack in the windshield, a section of missing weatherstripping on the lower driver’s corner of the windshield, wavy upper rear bumper trim, a scratch in the hood, and paint chips on the forward surfaces. A ceramic coating was applied in 2020. Corrosion is noted near the driver’s door seal, and the right-rear sail panel molding is missing. A replacement sail panel molding will accompany the car.
BBS Style 5 16″ basketweave wheels wear BMW center caps and are mounted with 225/50 Continental ExtremeContact DW Tuned tires fitted in 2010. The self-leveling rear suspension has been replaced with a Dinan suspension setup that includes performance springs plus Bilstein Sport rear shocks. The left-front upper control arm bushing was replaced in August 2020.
The seats were reupholstered in Natur leather under previous ownership and fitted with Euro-spec rear seat headrests. Equipment includes heated front seats, cruise control, a leather shift knob and boot, sisal floor mats, air conditioning, an onboard computer, and a JVC stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
The M-Tech I steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. Approximately 115k miles are shown on the six-digit mechanical odometer.
The 3.5-liter S38B35 inline-six was factory-rated at 256 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Modifications reportedly include a Dinan pressure plate, Bavarian Autosport flywheel, a short shift kit, a Euro camshaft gear modification, a European-style exhaust header, a modified downpipe to accept the factory-style catalytic converter or a track pipe, and a Frank Fahey crankshaft hub. Service in August 2020 by European Performance in Wilmington, Delaware consisted of replacing the fan clutch, fuel hose, valve cover breather hose, and an oil change. The water pump was replaced in 2019.
