The S281 features unique bumper covers, integrated fog lights, an aluminum hood with heat extractors, side skirts, a fixed rear spoiler, dual center-exit exhaust outlets, and Saleen S281 badging. This example is finished in black, and a decal on the left front bumper identifies it as #65 built for the model year.
Chrome 20” seven-spoke wheels wear Dunlop SportMaxx tires sized 275/35 all around. The suspension features Saleen-specific Racecraft shocks and springs as well as front and rear sway bars. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs with Saleen-branded calipers.
The cabin features sport seats upholstered in Dark Charcoal leather with embroidered Saleen logos and hollow headrests. Additional Saleen-branded equipment includes a short shifter, door sill plates, floor mats, aluminum pedal covers, and a steering wheel badge. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, and a Shaker 500 audio system.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. Additional gauges for air temperature and boost pressure are housed in individual pods on the dashboard. The digital odometer indicates just under 300 miles.
The 4.6-liter V8 was modified by Saleen with an intercooled Series VI twin-screw supercharger, larger fuel injectors, and a revised ECU tune for a claimed output of 465 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TR-3650 five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.55:1 final gear ratio.
An owner’s manual, tire sealant kit, and various Saleen memorabilia are included in the sale.
