This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda coupe was refurbished and modified under previous ownership and is finished in Rallye Red over black leather and powered by a fuel-injected 432ci stroker V8 paired with a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission. Additional modifications include MSD electronic ignition and Atomic EFI system, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, TTI headers, a Pope’s dual exhaust system, Vintage Air air conditioning, Dakota Digital gauges, 18″ US Mag wheels, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, a Unisteer power rack and pinion, and Hotchkis subframe connectors and shocks. The car is said to have remained in storage from the 1980s until the 2014 refurbishment and was acquired by the seller in April 2021.
The car was reportedly repainted in Rallye Red under prior ownership during the 2014 refurbishment. Features include body-colored elastomeric bumpers, tinted windows, a Rallye dual scoop hood and mirrors, hood pins, a satin black rear tail panel, and rectangular dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumper.
Gunmetal 18″ US Mags wheels are wrapped in 255/45 Bridgestone Potenza tires. Modifications include Hotchkis subframe connectors, Fox shock absorbers, and Unisteer power rack and pinion steering, and stopping power is provided by Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes.
The interior features front buckets and a rear bench that were reupholstered in black vinyl with a matching package tray, dashboard, carpets, and door trim panels. Amenities include a wooden pistol-grip shifter, push-button AM/FM stereo, Vintage Air air conditioning with a control panel, crank windows, a locking glovebox, and Barracuda script floor mats.
The three-spoke steering wheel with a barracuda logo button fronts a Dakota Digital 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temp, and voltage. The digital odometer indicates 4k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 432ci stroker V8 has been modified with an MSD Atomic fuel injection system and electronic ignition, an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, Mopar finned valve covers, a billet front accessory drive kit, an Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, TTI headers, and a Pope’s dual exhaust system.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a Tremec TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission and an 8 ¾ rear axle with a 3.91:1 ratio Sure-Grip differential.
