This 1978 Porsche 911SC Targa is finished in Cashmere Beige over tan leather and is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a black targa top, an Alpine head unit, a Pioneer equalizer, and 15″ cookie cutter wheels. The car was acquired by the owner in 2015 from her father who reportedly purchased it out of Arizona in 1982. Maintenance performed in 2021 included mounting four tires and installing a back-flow valve kit as well as a replacement starter motor, fuel pump, inlet hose, and accumulator.
The body left the factory finished in Cashmere Beige (502) and features a black Targa bar and removable roof panel. Service records show that the decklid and hood struts were replaced in 2015.
Black-finished 15″ cookie cutter wheels wear Porsche-crest center caps along with anodized lips and were mounted with Toyo Extensa tires in May 2021. Work in 2015 also included installing replacement front wheel bearings and hub seals as well as brake calipers, rotors, and hoses.
The interior is trimmed in tan leather including a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional interior equipment includes an Alpine AM/FM cassette stereo, a Pioneer equalizer, and power windows. The right window switch was replaced in May 2021, and separated seams are visible in the driver’s seat.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a centrally-mounted tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline, a 150-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 167k miles.
The air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six is equipped with Bosch fuel injection and was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Maintenance performed in May 2021 included performing a compression test as well as installing an oil reservoir back-flow valve kit and a replacement starter motor.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. A replacement fuel pump, inlet hose, and accumulator were installed in May 2021.
