This 1984 Ford Mustang GT is a 20th Anniversary Edition convertible that was purchased from its original owner by the seller’s father in 1998, and it now shows under 5,500 miles. The car is finished in Oxford White over Canyon Red cloth and is powered by a carbureted 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Each 20th Anniversary Mustang was finished in Oxford White (9L) with red GT350 rocker-panel graphics and bumper striping. This example was ordered with a black soft top, and additional equipment includes an air dam with integrated fog lights, commemorative badges on both front fenders, and a red boot cover.
Metric tri-spoke wheels are mounted with older 220/55R390 Michelin TRX tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs up front and drums at the rear.
Canyon Red cloth upholstery (D) covers the front bucket seats and rear bench. The cassette stereo is paired with a premium sound system, and further equipment includes tilt steering, air conditioning, cruise control, and powered windows and door locks.
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer along with an ammeter and gauges coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 5,500 miles, approximately 1,850 miles of which have been added by the seller and his family.
The 5.0-liter ‘High Output’ V8 is equipped with a single four-barrel carburetor and was rated from the factory at 175 horsepower. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed transmission and a Traction Lok differential.
The window sticker lists initial delivery to Joe Myers Ford Inc, of Houston, Texas, colors and equipment, and a total price of $15,610. An uninstalled dashboard plaque indicates this chassis to be #1,094 of the limited-edition models produced, and additional literature, spare parts, and accessories included in the sale.
