This 1966 Porsche 912 coupe has been refinished in silver over black, and its 1.6-liter flat-four is paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The seller acquired the car in 2006 and has since added approximately 4k miles. The car was delivered new in Polo Red (6602) and was refinished in silver under previous ownership. Imperfections are noted in the finish along with rust below the rear window and cracking at the rear of the drip rails.
Ventilated 15″ steel wheels wear faded Porsche-crest hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Cooper Sportmaster GLT tires. A matching spare is mounted in the front trunk. The seller states that the brakes have been serviced and the brake master cylinder has been replaced under current ownership.
The interior features aftermarket manually adjustable bucket seats with black cloth upholstery. Retractable lap belts were installed in 2006, and the carpets were replaced in 2007. A third brake light has been installed, and the weatherstripping and window cranks have been replaced according to the seller.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames green-letter VDO instrumentation that includes a 7k-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. An ammeter and oil-temperature gauge have been added to the left of the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles.
The 1.6-liter flat-four is equipped with dual Weber carburetors topped with aftermarket air cleaners. The oil was changed in July 2021, and the battery as well as the struts for the deck lid and front trunk have recently been replaced.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, and the clutch assembly was replaced in 2018. Seepage is noted, and some rust is visible on underbody components.
The removed seats have some holes in the upholstery and will be included with the car.
