This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible was acquired by the seller in 1989 and a subsequent refurbishment included body work, a repaint in blue, replacement of the seat covers, and a rebuild of the 289ci V8. Additional work included the replacement of suspension components and the white convertible soft top. The car is equipped with a three-speed manual transmission, front disc brakes, wire wheel covers, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel.
The exterior was refurbished in the early 1990s by Bundy Motors in Tolland, Connecticut. Work included replacement of the quarter panels, fenders, rocker panels, floor panels, and bumpers, as well as rust and dent repair. The car was repainted in light blue and features a white soft top that was installed in August 2004, along with a matching boot cover.
The 14″ steel wheels wear bright wire covers and are wrapped in 195/70 Goodyear Integrity whitewall tires that were mounted in 1999. Disc brakes are fitted up front, and the upper and lower ball joints, control arms, shocks, coil springs, and tie rods were replaced in 2014.
The interior is trimmed in blue and the seats were recovered. Features include woodgrain accents, rubber floor mats, and a locking glove box.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles.
The 289ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel Edelbrock carburetor, aluminum intake manifold, cast valve covers, and aluminum radiator. The engine was bored .040″ over during a rebuild in 1991, and additional work included a valve job, reground camshaft, and replacement of the pistons, piston rings, and camshaft bearings. The water pump was replaced in 2015.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission.
