This 1986 Chevrolet Corvette coupe is finished in red over charcoal leather and is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 mated to a Doug Nash “4+3″ manual transmission with push-button overdrive and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes the Z51 package which adds Bilstein shocks, an engine oil cooler, and a heavy duty radiator among other parts, as well as automatic climate control, a power driver’s seat, a Delco-Bose cassette stereo, and a removable roof panel.
The exterior is finished in Bright Red (81U) and features a removable tinted roof panel, quad exhaust outlets, fog lights, a power-retractable antenna, and pop-up headlights.
Aluminum 16” turbine-style wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp-2 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the car came the Z51 package which added a heavy-duty suspension with Bilstein dampers, as well as front and rear stabilizer bars.
Seating surfaces are upholstered in charcoal leather along with matching carpets and a black dashboard and center console. Amenities include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, power windows and mirrors, and a Delco-Bose cassette stereo.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames digital instrumentation that includes an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and additional gauges that can be configured to show fuel level, oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 20k miles.
The 5.7-liter L98 V8 is equipped with Tuned Port Injection and was factory rated at 230 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Doug Nash 4+3 manual transmission with pushbutton-activated overdrive in the top three gears and a limited-slip differential. Additional features in the Z51 package include a heavy-duty radiator and radiator boost fan, as well as an engine oil cooler. Service in 2018 reportedly included replacement of the clutch master cylinder along with a brake and clutch fluid flush, and an oil change was performed in 2020.
