This 1966 MGB roadster was acquired by the seller in September 2009 and subsequently refurbished, with changes including bodywork revisions, a repaint in blue, reupholstering the cabin, and installing a roll hoop, white-painted Minilite-style wheels, and a reproduction banjo-style steering wheel. Power is from a replacement 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes chrome bumpers with overriders, a black tonneau cover, rubber floor mats, a fire extinguisher, and a lockable glovebox.
The body was stripped, bodywork was completed, and the car was refinished in blue under current ownership. A front air dam has been added along with a white-painted roll bar, and other exterior features include chrome bumpers with overriders, a black tonneau cover, and a single exhaust outlet.
White-finished Minilite-style wheels are mounted with Bridgestone HP550 tires. The seller states that the shocks and wheel bearings were replaced along with brake-system components including the master cylinder, lines, front rotors and calipers, and rear drums.
The cabin features seats trimmed in red upholstery with white piping as well as matching door panels and carpets, a black dashboard, and rubber floor mats. The dashboard houses a lockable glovebox, and a cupholder is mounted to the transmission tunnel. Other equipment includes adjustable vent windows, lap belts, and a fire extinguisher.
The reproduction banjo-style steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1.8-liter inline-four was installed under current ownership and features dual carburetors, an aluminum radiator, and a polished valve cover. Service under current ownership is said to have included rebuilding the carburetors and replacing the wiring harness, fuel tank, and fuel pump. The oil was recently changed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Stainless steel headers and exhaust have been installed.
The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate lists factory colors and equipment as well as a build date of January 14, 1966.
