This 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo was first delivered to the Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois and spent time in Florida and North Carolina, where it was acquired by the current owner in February 2020. The car is powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and it is finished in Guards Red over Light Grey partial leather. Equipment includes a power-operated removable sunroof panel, power windows and locks, and 16″ Fuchs wheels, and the car has been modified with an aftermarket bypass valve, an adjustable boost controller, and a block-off plate in place of the removed stereo unit.
The car is finished in Guards Red, and the seller notes evidence of paintwork on the right-front fender and portions of the body. Features include pop-up headlights with washers, an electric removable sunroof panel, and a black rear spoiler.
Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs wheels with black centers and polished lips wear 205/50 and 225/50 Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Repair to one wheel was completed in December 2020. Braking is from four-wheel discs with black calipers all around.
The Light Grey partial leather interior features front seats with power height adjustment, folding rear seats, and color-matched trim and carpets. The car is equipped with power windows, and the stereo unit has been removed and replaced with a delete plate.
Instrumentation consists of a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a turbocharger boost gauge, and ancillary readouts. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads just over 88k milesl
The turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque. A billet bypass valve and an adjustable boost controller were installed under prior ownership. The timing belt, water pump, and radiator were replaced in January 2020, while service completed in December 2020 included replacement of the heater core, spark plugs, and clutch as well as an oil change, transaxle service, and coolant flush.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
Manufacturer’s literature and a log of service records are included in the sale.
