This 1951 Willys-Overland CJ-3A is finished in green over tan vinyl and powered by a 134ci inline-four paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a twin-stick dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes 16″ steel wheels, manually-locking front hubs, windshield wipers, and front lap belts. The truck was refurbished under prior ownership and was acquired by the seller and her late husband in 2013. Subsequent work included a carburetor adjustment and replacement of the fuel level sender float and steering box bushings.
The body is said to have been repainted in green in 2009, at which time the taillamp assemblies, windshield cowl gasket, and headlamps were also replaced. Features include Willys hood graphics, a folding windshield with motorized wipers, flat front fender flares, and a driver-side rearview mirror.
Black-finished 15″ steel wheels are mounted with Specialty Tires of America NDCC tires, and a spare is mounted to a swing-out carrier at the rear. The steering gearbox sector shaft, worm gear bearings, worm gear shims, and knuckle seals were replaced in 2009 along with the front and rear shocks. The steering box bushings were replaced in 2013.
The cabin features front seats and a rear bench trimmed in tan vinyl with body-color floors. Additional features include a body-color dash, front lap belts, twin-stick transfer case shifters, and a passenger-side grab handle.
Replacement instruments includes a 60-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, approximately 300 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 134ci “Go-Devil” inline-four retains its 6-volt electrical system and sends power to the front, rear, or all four wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The radiator assembly, oil pressure lines and hoses, and oil pan gasket were replaced in 2009. The carburetor and ignition timing were adjusted and the fuel level sender float was replaced under current ownership.
The exhaust system was replaced in 2009.
