This 1995 Lotus Esprit S4S was purchased new by the seller’s father at Continental Classic Motors in Hinsdale, Illinois, and it is finished in black over red leather upholstery. Power is provided by a turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and additional features include S4S-specific body details, a removable sunroof panel, fog lights, 17″ wheels, air conditioning, a JVC CD stereo, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. The bodywork is finished in black (B02) and features a front lip spoiler, pop-up headlights, front fog lights, removable sunroof panel, and a rear wing. No accidents or prior damage are reported on the included Carfax.
Factory 17″ wheels produced by OZ Racing feature Lotus-logo center caps and are mounted with a mix of Hankook and General tires. A space-saver spare fitted with a Michelin tire is stored in the front compartment. The four-wheel disc brakes feature Brembo calipers up front as well as an anti-lock system.
Red upholstery covers the interior, including the leather seats, carpeting, door panels, and lower dashboard. Additional features include a JVC CD stereo, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and power-adjustable and heated side-view mirrors.
The airbag-equipped steering wheel sits ahead of a wood-trimmed gauge cluster. Instrumentation consists of a 180-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for boost pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 20k miles.
The turbocharged 2.2-liter 910s inline-four was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The muffler and exhaust finishers were replaced in January 2021 according to the seller, who notes that the clutch was also repaired in 2021.
Manufacturer’s literature and a window sticker showing a total suggested retail price of $75,995 are included in the sale.
