This 1975 Jeep CJ-5 was acquired by the seller in 2002 and subsequently received a body-off refurbishment with a repaint in its current gray finish. The truck is powered by a 232ci inline-six linked with a three-speed manual transmission, a Dana 20 dual-range transfer case, a Dana 30 front axle with Warn locking hubs, and a Dana 44 rear axle with a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes 15″ aluminum wheels, a black vinyl bikini top, Bestop heated bucket seats, and a hidden AM/FM/CD stereo with overhead speakers. Recent service is said to have included rebuilding the carburetor and changing the oil.
The truck underwent a multi-year refurbishment following the seller’s acquisition in 2002, during which time the body was removed from the frame, the tub and frame were coated with POR-15, the windshield frame was replaced, and the body was repainted in its current gray finish. Features include a powder-coated roll cage as well as a black-finished bumper and side mirrors.
Polished 15″ aluminum wheels are mounted with 31×10.50″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The interior features Bestop heated bucket seats upholstered in gray cloth joined by a body-color steel dash and floors coated in POR-15. A Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit is installed within the lockable center console and is connected to overhead Sony speakers.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 90-mph speedometer with auxiliary gauges. The speedometer was replaced during the refurbishment, and the inset coolant temperature and fuel gauges do not work. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 15k miles.
The 232ci inline-six was reportedly refurbished in 2005 including installation of a Davis Unified Ignition system and refinishing of the air cleaner and valve cover. Work performed in preparation for the sale is said to have included rebuilding the carburetor and changing the oil. The truck features an aftermarket fuel tank, and the seller notes that the factory smog equipment has been removed and is included in the sale.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed manual transmission and a Dana 20 dual-range transfer case. The Dana 30 front axle is equipped with Warn manually-locking hubs, and the Dana 44 rear axle features a limited-slip differential.
