This 1972 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was sold new by Lou LaRiche Chevrolet of Plymouth, Michigan, finished in Classic White over Saddle leather with an optional 350ci LT-1 V8 and a four-speed close-ratio manual transmission. Other features include removable T-top roof panels, 15″ Rally wheels, and a Delco radio. The car received an NCRS Top Flight Award in 1996.
The car was delivered new in Classic White (972) and features removable T-top roof panels, a vented hood with LT-1 script, egg-crate front grilles, fender gills, and dual exhaust that terminates through the rear valance.
The 15″ Rally wheels wear hubcaps and beauty rings and are mounted with 225/70 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires. The car was optioned with power-assisted brakes.
The interior was trimmed in Saddle leather from the factory, with matching trim and carpeting. Black floor mats protect the front footwells, and a Delco-branded AM/FM radio is located in the center stack.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. The five-digit odometer shows just under 41k miles.
The 350ci LT-1 V8 is said to be equipped with an air injection reactor system and was factory rated at 255 horsepower.
The stamping on the left side of the engine pad reads 12S507668, the last eight digits of which match the final digits of the car’s serial number. The CKY suffix to the right is consistent with a 255-horsepower, 350ci LT-1 V8 built for use in a 1972 Corvette with a four-barrel carburetor and a four-speed manual transmission.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 differential.
The tank sticker shows selected factory options including the LT-1 engine along with a total price of $6,618.40.
The car is featured in the Fall 2021 issue of Corvette Fever.
