This 1969 Ford Bronco was acquired by the seller in 2017, and it subsequently underwent a body-off refurbishment that included a repaint in metallic gray, installation of Buick-sourced black leather seats, and replacement of the driveshafts, axles and differentials, suspension, steering components, body panels, wiring harness, fuel tank, and more as detailed below. The truck is powered by a replacement 302ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a rebuilt dual-range transfer case. Additional equipment includes a removable black hardtop, lifted suspension, a winch, a roof rack, a swing-away rear carrier, a Bluetooth-capable retro-look stereo, and a dual exhaust system.
The truck was refinished in Ford Magnetic Gray with a black hardtop, billet-style fender flares, black hood center panel, magnetic badges, and custom-made front grille. Equipment includes an LED light bar, LED running, driving and back-up lights, a Smittybilt winch, billet hood locks, tinted windows, black nerf bars, and a custom-made rear bumper with a swing-away tire and tool carrier containing a Hi-Lift jack, a Coca-Cola cooler, a jerry can, an axe, and a shovel. The front fenders, rocker panels, door skins, door handles, mirrors, glass, weather seals, and badges were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment.
Polished aluminum 15” wheels are mounted with 33×12.5″ Big O Bigfoot M/T tires. Warn manually-locking hubs are fitted up front, and the truck is said to have been lifted 3.5″ using a James Duffy suspension lift kit with dual shock hoops. A a rebuilt F-150 steering box with a 3:1 ratio was reportedly installed along with a replacement sway bar, tie rod ends, and front and rear traction bars.
The cabin features power-adjustable front seats trimmed in black leather and sourced from a Buick, a silver powder-coated dashboard, and floors coated with spray-on bed-liner. Appointments include vinyl floor coverings, a removable front center storage console, hand-crank windows, a folding rear bench with underseat storage, and a Bluetooth-capable RetroSound stereo with auxiliary inputs and aftermarket speakers. The doors and rear quarter panels were reportedly lined with sound deadening material, and the shift knobs, headliner, wiper covers, window cranks, heater box and core, dash pad, switch panel, and headliner were replaced.
An aftermarket steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 69k miles.
The Ford 302ci V8 was reportedly sourced as a crate engine and installed under prior ownership. It is said to feature an .040” overbore, a performance camshaft, a Carter four-barrel carburetor, a high-rise intake manifold, and a Mallory ignition distributor and coil. An oversize oil pan, replacement rear fuel tank, dry-cell battery, and Centech wiring harness were reportedly installed under current ownership along with new spark plugs and a four-core radiator with an electric auxiliary fan. Ceramic-coated long-tube headers feed a dual exhaust system with twin Cherry Bomb Turbo mufflers. The engine compartment features a tool box mounted to the inner fender and an air intake on the left side that has been converted to a tool caddy.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a replacement New Process 435 four-speed manual transmission and a Dana 20 dual-range transfer case that was reportedly rebuilt with a 6:1 ratio. The Dana 44 front axle is said to feature 4.10 gearing and a power locking differential, while the Ford 9″ rear end has reportedly been fitted with an Eaton Detroit “Soft Locker” locking differential and 31-spline alloy axles. Polyurethane axle bumper stops are also said to have been installed.
The truck is supplied with service and refurbishment receipts dating back to 1993 and an uninstalled line lock for the rear brakes.
