This 1966 Ford Mustang GT fastback is finished in Raven Black over black vinyl upholstery and powered by a replacement A Code 289ci V8 paired with a replacement Borg Warner T10 four-speed manual transmission and 3.20:1 rear axle. Features include a 1965 Mustang rear valance, 15″ American Racing wheels, front disc brakes, a lowered suspension with Koni shock absorbers, a Monte Carlo bar and export brace, an electronic ignition conversion, a Holley four-barreal carburetor, a Hurst competition shifter, and a push-button AM/FM/cassette radio.
The car is said to have been refinished in the factory Raven Black (A) in 1992. The GT package includes side stripes, a GT fuel cap in the center of the rear tail panel, a unique dual exhaust, fog lamps with a unique grille, and painted rocker panels. Features include dual mirrors, rear quarter louvers, a 1965 Mustang rear valance, chrome bumpers, and 289 badging.
The 15″ American Racing 200S wheels are mounted with 205/60 Remington XT-120 HR 4 tires. The suspension has been lowered and fitted with Koni shock absorbers at all four corners, and braking is handled by GT-standard manual front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl along with a matching dashboard, headliner, sun visors, door panels, and carpeting. Equipment includes Deluxe lap belts with a warning lamp, a Hurst competition shifter with a cue ball knob, crank windows, and a push-button AM/FM/cassette radio. The factory air conditioning compressor, under-dash
unit, brackets, pulleys, condenser, and radio have been removed and are included in the sale.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer and readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. A 5k-rpm redline VDO tachometer is mounted below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 23k miles.
The replacement A Code 289ci V8 features an electronic ignition conversion, smog equipment, a Holley four-barrel carburetor with a thermostatic choke, and is said to have hardened valve seats. Underhood modifications include an export brace and a Monte Carlo bar. Service in May 2021 is said to have included a carburetor rebuild, an oil change, and replacement of the fuel pump and fuel, air, and smog filters.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a replacement Borg Warner T10 four-speed manual transmission and 3.20:1 rear axle.
Removed parts including the factory air conditioning compressor, under-dash unit, brackets, pulleys, condenser, and radio are included in the sale along with a car cover, black California license plates and the original GT fuel cap.
