This 1964 Pontiac GTO hardtop is finished in Starlight Black over a matching interior and powered by a 389ci V8 paired with a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and 4.10:1 12-bolt rear axle. Features include Tri-Power induction, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, a Griffin radiator, 15″ steel wheels, redline tires, rear back-up lamps, a push-button AM radio, and a Hurst shifter. The car spent time in New York and was acquired by the seller in 2013 and subsequently refurbished with work including replacement of the quarter panels skins, floor pans, trunk pan, lower door skins, and rocker panels as well as a repaint.
The car is said to have been refinished in the factory Starlight Black (A) during the refurbishment. Details include chrome bumpers and bright-finished wheel well trim. The GTO option package included dual hood scoops, GTO badges, and dual exhaust tips.
The body-colored 15″ steel wheels wear Pontiac hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial redline tires. The factory front drum brakes were replaced with power-assisted front discs, and the car is fitted with power steering.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl with a matching dash, carpets, console, and door panels. Additional interior appointments include retractable lap belts, a Hurst shifter with a cueball knob, vent windows, manual windows, and a push-button AM radio.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. A trio of AutoMeter gauges has been mounted under the radio. The five-digit odometer shows 210 miles which are said to represent the distance driven since the completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown.
The 389ci V8 is fitted with a tri-power induction system, electronic ignition, and a Griffin Radiator. An oil change was performed in 2021, and the removed radiator and intake manifold are included in the sale.
The factory three-speed manual transmission and rear axle have been replaced by a Muncie four-speed manual transmission and a 4.10:1 12-bolt rear axle. The removed transmission is reportedly included in the sale.
