This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is finished in blue with white stripes over white vinyl and powered by a replacement 454ci V8 paired with a 4L60 four-speed automatic transmission and Ford 9″ rear axle. The engine was rebuilt and modified with a FAST fuel injection system and MSD ignition in 2004, and a refurbishment in 2010 included repainting the body, rechroming the trim, and installing a Compushift transmission controller, Hotchkis suspension, BAER disc brakes, and a Vintage Air air conditioning system. Additional equipment consists of 15″ steel wheels, xenon headlights, and a Pioneer stereo.
The trim was rechromed and the car was refinished in its current shade of blue with twin white center stripes as part of a refurbishment completed in 2010. Features include a cowl induction hood, xenon headlights, LED taillights, and a dual exit exhaust with polished finishers.
The 15″ steel wheels wear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T white-letter tires measuring 245/60 up front and 295/50 in the rear. BAER power-assisted disc brakes are fitted at all four corners, and steering is handled by a quick ratio steering box. A Hotchkis suspension kit is installed and features front and rear coilovers and sway bars.
The front bucket and rear bench seats have been reupholstered in white vinyl and feature matching replacement door panels, a black dashboard, and black carpets. Additional equipment includes a center console, Vintage Air air conditioning system, Hurst shifter grip, Chevelle script floor mats, three-point seat belts for the front occupants with lap belts in the rear, and a Pioneer stereo with speakers mounted on the rear shelf. A Compushift transmission controller is mounted on the center console. The seller states replacement mirrors, switches, door handles, and locks have been installed.
The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer indicates under 4k miles have been added since the refurbishment, and total mileage is unknown.
The 454ci V8 was rebuilt in 2004 using a replacement Wiseco camshaft, pistons, rockers, and lifters as well as FAST electronic fuel injection, and MSD ignition. Cooling is provided by an aluminum radiator with a polished cover and electric fan, and the fuel tank was reportedly recoated. Replacement fuel lines have been installed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt 4L60 four-speed automatic transmission equipped with overdrive and a Ford 9″ rear end. A Magnaflow exhaust system is installed.
