This 1977 Pontiac LeMans sport coupe is one of approximately 1,377 examples that were optioned with the Can Am package and was originally delivered to Eddy Esposito Pontiac in Grove City, Pennsylvania. It is finished in Cameo White over Firethorn Red vinyl upholstery and is equipped with a Trans Am-sourced 400ci W72 V8, a handling package, accent stripes, a shaker hood, and a rear spoiler. Additional equipment includes a three-speed automatic transmission, a Safe-T-Track differential, 15″ Rally II wheels, and an AM/FM push-button radio.
All Can Am cars were finished in Cameo White (11) and sent to Jim Wanger’s Motortown Corporation, who added a ducktail spoiler, a shaker hood scoop, and black-painted rocker panels, as well as tricolored decals across the hood, doors, and rear spoiler. This example reportedly underwent a repaint during previous ownership, and additional exterior details include louvered quarter windows, chrome bumpers, and fog lights.
Polished 15” Rally II wheels with body-color inset areas are mounted with 225/70 Goodyear Eagle ST white-letter tires, and a stow-away spare is found in the trunk. The car is equipped with the Rally Radial Tuned Suspension Handling Package, power-assisted front disc brakes, and power steering.
The cabin features seating surfaces trimmed in Firethorn Red (71R1) vinyl upholstery with matching door panels and carpeting. Amenities include front shoulder belts, an AM/FM radio, and front and rear floor mats.
A three-spoke Sport steering wheel fronts instrumentation consisting of a 100-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles.
The 400ci W72 V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 200 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and an optional Safe-T-Track differential.
A copy of the dealer invoice shows factory equipment and a total invoice amount of $4,963.10.
