Work completed over the past three years included repainting the engine bay, building and installing the engine, refurbishing the interior, and rebuilding the suspension, and brake components.
The body was reportedly stripped to bare metal before being repainted in its factory shade of Wimbledon White (M) under prior ownership. Chrome trim adorns the bumpers, window surrounds, and Shelby-style side mirrors, and additional features include quarter window louvers, “Mustang” badging, grille-mounted fog lights, a power antenna, and a dual-exit exhaust with chrome tips.
The factory 14″ styled steel wheels wear pony emblem center caps and 205/70 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T white-letter tires. Braking is handled by discs brakes up front and drums out back that were reportedly rebuilt in 2003 using turned rotors and drums, Kelsey-Hayes four-piston calipers, and a replacement dual master cylinder, brake pads, wheel cylinders, and shoes. The suspension consists of Shelby-style traction bars, KYB shocks, a Monte Carlo Bar, a 1″ sway bar, and replacement bushings, tie rod ends, ball joints, springs, and tie rods.
The Pony interior features front bucket seating reupholstered in red vinyl (25) with parchment inserts and is complemented by matching door panels, a red dashboard cover, red carpets, and red rear seat upholstery. Equipment includes a center console, glovebox, vent windows, and a Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo wired to Pioneer component speakers.
The factory three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a column-mounted tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. An oil pressure gauge is mounted in an additional cluster beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The engine bay was stripped to bare metal and repainted and the Ford Motorsport 302ci V8 was built and installed as part of the 2003 refurbishment. The engine features Ford GT40P ported heads, Ford Motorsport rockers and roller lifters, a Crane Camshaft, a Holley 600cfm carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, Tri-Y headers, and a three-row radiator with a fan shroud. The starter was replaced in 2011, and the battery was replaced in 2018.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Ford C4 three-speed automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit. An Auburn Pro limited-slip differential with 3.00:1 gearing is said to be installed, and work completed as part of the refurbishment includes replacing the fuel tank and servicing the transmission, torque converter, and differential.
