Listing terms

These rules apply to vehicles listed directly on Sesame Cars. They keep listings accurate and buyers safe.

Last updated Oct 20, 2026

Who can list

You must own the vehicle, or be authorised by the owner to sell it, and be at least 18. Direct listings are for private sellers; dealers should contact us about partner feeds.

What your listing must include

  • An accurate year, make, model, mileage and asking price.
  • Photos of the actual vehicle, taken by you or with permission. No stock images.
  • An honest description, including known faults, accident history and title status.

Review and duration

Every listing is reviewed before it goes live, usually within two hours. Listings are free and stay live for 60 days; you can renew an expired listing from your dashboard. Editing a live listing sends it back for review.

What we may remove

We may decline or remove listings that are misleading, duplicated, priced to bait, show a different car, or break the terms of use. Repeated violations can lead to account suspension.

When the car sells

Please mark it sold from your dashboard. The sale price helps other buyers through our market data; it's shown without your personal details.
