This 1978 International Harvester Scout is finished in metallic blue with a gray top over black vinyl and is powered by a replacement fuel-injected 5.3-liter LM7 V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes a 4″ suspension lift, beadlock-style wheels, Mickey Thompson tires, LED lighting, an aftermarket rear bumper, air conditioning, power windows and locks, and a digital instrument cluster as well as an aluminum radiator, cooling fans, stainless steel headers, a Flowmaster dual exhaust system, Dana 44 differentials with finned covers, and a slip-yoke eliminator.
The body was removed from the frame prior to a repaint in metallic blue with a gray hardtop. The quarter and rocker panels as well as the floorboards and weatherstripping are said to have been replaced. Equipment includes a roof rack, an aftermarket rear bumper, LED headlights, LS graphics, and AMP power-retractable running boards.
Aftermarket beadlock-style wheels wear Mickey Thompson Deegan 38 tires. The truck is equipped with a 4″ Rough Country lift and manually locking front hubs as well as front disc and rear drum brakes. The power steering pump has been replaced.
The cabin features Corbeau front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl joined by gray carpets and door trim. The headliner has been replaced, and the four-point roll bar refinished. Amenities include a Vintage Air air conditioning system, power windows and locks, and a Sony AX1000 stereo with Apple CarPlay paired with Kenwood speakers.
The aftermarket steering wheel fronts a carbon fiber-style panel housing aftermarket digital instrumentation including a speedometer flanked by readouts for battery voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer reads 162 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter LM7 V8 is said to have been sourced from a 2007 GMC Savana, and it is equipped with a FiTech Ultimate LS fuel injection system with a touchscreen controller. Additional modifications include a customized air intake, stainless steel fuel lines, an in-tank fuel pump, stainless steel headers and mufflers, a Flowmaster dual exhaust, an aluminum radiator, and Spal cooling fans. The water pump, alternator, a pulley, drive belts, and spark plugs and wires were reportedly replaced.
Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission with a FiTech programmer and a two-speed transfer case reportedly sourced from a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban. A transmission service has been performed and a dipstick installed, and the transfer case is reported to have been fitted with a replacement main shaft, bearings, seals, and a slip-yoke eliminator kit. The driveshafts have been modified, and the Dana 44 front and rear differentials wear finned covers.
