This 1932 Ford Model 18 400-B convertible sedan is one of approximately 850 examples built and was reportedly exported to Europe from the US when new. It is finished dark blue over brown leather upholstery and is powered by a 221ci flathead V8 mated to a three-speed manual gearbox. Features include a beige cloth soft top, a rebuilt Detroit carburetor, a luggage rack, and a clock mirror. The car was acquired by the seller three years ago from the estate of its previous owner out of South Carolina, and subsequent maintenance included changing the engine oil, rebuilding the fuel and water pumps, and replacing the tires.
The body wears a weathered dark blue finish with black fenders and side trim. The beige cloth soft top retracts leaving full-framed door and rear quarter windows. Other features include a louvered hood, dual taillights, and a luggage rack. The seller notes areas of touch-up on the tops of the fenders as well as traces of older pinstriping. The running boards were replaced under current ownership.
Wire wheels with V8 hubcaps are finished in black and were mounted with 18″ Excelsior tires under current ownership. A Firestone spare is mounted to the driver-side fender.
The interior features brown leather upholstery, a painted steel dashboard, and a beige floor covering. The front seats fold forward to access the rear bench, and features include a clock mirror and a venting windshield.
The centrally mounted gauge cluster houses an ammeter as well as a 130-kph speedometer with an inset five-digit odometer showing 67k kilometers (~41k miles). True mileage is unknown.
The 221ci flathead V8 is equipped with a Detroit lubricator carburetor that is said to have been rebuilt under current ownership. Other maintenance performed at that time reportedly included rebuilding the water and fuel pumps.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted three-speed manual transmission.
