This 1946 Chevrolet 1434 stake bed truck is a Canadian-market example finished in black and blue with red accents over tan and is powered by a 216ci inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include dual rear wheels, a stake bed, a painted bumper and grille, dual mirrors, a split windshield, four-wheel drum brakes, and steel wheels. Recent work consisted of a fluid service and replacement six-volt battery in 2021.
The truck was reportedly refurbished in 2011 under current ownership and was finished in black and blue with red accents on the grille, headlamp surrounds, and upper trim. Features include front fenders, running boards, painted bumpers, a waterfall-style grille, a split windscreen, dual mirrors, and a custom stained-wood stake bed.
The black 18″ steel wheels are mounted to 8-lug axles and wear 5.50″ – 18″ Firestone tires. The rear axle features dual rear wheels and braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. The brakes and suspension are said to have been replaced during the refurbishment in 2011.
The cab features a bench seat upholstered in tan vinyl along with a body-colored dashboard and doors. Equipment includes a floor-mounted shifter, crank-open windshield, rubber Chevrolet-branded floor mats, and a lockable glovebox.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, battery voltage, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 7k miles, which are said to represent the mileage since the completion of the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.
The 216ci straight-six is fed by a single Carter carburetor. A fluid service is said to have been completed, and the six-volt battery was replaced in 2021.
Power is sent to the dual rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
