This 1955 Chevrolet 3100 is a stepside pickup that the seller acquired in 2014 and subsequently had refurbished and modified during 2015 and 2016. Work included removing and refinishing the body in blue over a gray cloth interior and installing a later-model replacement 350ci V8 paired with a floor-shifted automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes chrome 15″ Cragar wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, adjustable front and rear coilovers, a four-link rear suspension, tubular headers, an aluminum radiator, an updated wiring harness, chrome bumpers, wood bed flooring, power steering, air conditioning, a later-model bench seat, aftermarket instrumentation, and a retro-style head unit with Bluetooth connectivity. The oil was changed in October 2020.
The stepside body was removed and refinished in the current blue under current ownership. Other work conducted during the 2015–2016 refurbishment is said to have included media-blasting the frame, reinforcing it to accommodate the modified rear suspension, and powdercoating it in black. The rubber cab mounts were replaced, as were the lighting, bumpers, grille, chrome trim, windows, exterior hardware, weatherstripping, and seals.
The inside of the bed has been finished with a textured coating and features replacement wood planks separated by stainless-steel strips.
Cragar 15″ wheels are finished in chrome and mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires with raised white lettering. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and the suspension has been modified and features front and rear QA1 adjustable coilovers and a four-link rear setup.
The interior is equipped with a later-model bench seat that is upholstered in patterned gray cloth with black and gray door panels and black carpeting. Sheetmetal surfaces bear a body-color finish, and amenities include a reupholstered headliner, air conditioning, power steering, a retro-style radio with Bluetooth connectivity, and Kicker speakers.
An aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to an adjustable Ididit steering column and fronts aftermarket instrumentation that consists of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a digital display, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer indicates approximately 900 miles, and true chassis mileage is unknown.
The replacement 350ci V8 was removed from a late-model Chevrolet Silverado and features throttle-body fuel injection, finned-aluminum valve covers, tubular headers, a side-exit dual exhaust system, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and a replacement wiring harness. An oil change was carried out in October 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted Silverado-sourced automatic transmission.
