This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is finished in two-tone blue and white with a white soft top over a blue interior, and its 265ci V8 is paired with a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels with covers and whitewall tires, power brakes, power steering, an AM radio, a tissue dispenser, and a dash-mounted compass and traffic-light prism. The car was acquired out of Washington state with fire damage and was refurbished in British Columbia under previous ownership. Work is said to have included stripping the vehicle to bare metal, repairing the floor, replacing the rear quarter panels, refinishing the exterior, and redoing the interior. The current owner acquired the car in 2008 and has since added approximately 2,300 miles.
The car was delivered new in two-tone India Ivory and Coral, and it was overhauled following fire damage under previous ownership. The body is said to have been placed on a rotisserie and taken down to bare metal. The rear quarter panels were damaged in the fire and were replaced before the car was refinished in two-tone blue and white with a white soft top.
Blue-finished 15″ steel wheels wear Chevrolet-branded covers and are mounted with 215/75 BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall radial tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering and power brakes.
The interior features a split-folding front bench seat that provides access to the rear bench, and the seating surfaces are trimmed in two-tone blue upholstery. A portion of the floor was replaced during the refurbishment, and amenities include a power-adjustable front seat, power windows, electric wipers, and an AM radio. A traffic-light prism and compass are mounted atop the dashboard, and a tissue dispenser is located under the dash.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation that includes a sweeping 110-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer was reset when the car was refurbished and shows 2,300 miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 265ci V8 is finished in orange with a black air-cleaner assembly. Features include a four-barrel carburetor and a dual exhaust system. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.
