This 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan is finished in black and white over a two-tone gray interior, and it is powered by an overbored 292ci V8 mated to a Borg-Warner five-speed manual transmission and a 3.25:1-geared rear axle. Modifications include American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, power brakes, power steering, a Hurst shifter, reupholstered front and rear bench seats, a Pioneer CD stereo with Clarion speakers, AutoMeter and Sunpro gauges, and a leather-wrapped Ididit steering wheel. The seller acquired the car in 2006 and subsequently integrated replacement engine components including Mummert aluminum heads and intake manifold, an Edelbrock AVS2 carburetor, an MSD distributor, and a Power Master starter.
Originally finished in Raven Black, the car reportedly was refinished in its current shade of black and white in 2006. Trim includes bright side moldings, window surrounds, mirrors, and bumpers as well as Fairlane, Club Sedan, and Ford badging.
Gray-finished 15″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels feature polished lips and are wrapped in 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that show 2019 date codes. Braking is supplied by hydraulically boosted front discs and rear drums that were installed under current ownership.
Originally trimmed in two-tone gray cloth, the cabin was reupholstered in its current shades of gray vinyl with darker gray inserts in 2015. Equipment includes front and rear bench seats with lap belts, a body-color dashboard, a heater, a push-button AM radio, an aftermarket Pioneer CD stereo, Clarion speakers, and a Hurst shifter with a white knob.
The leather-wrapped Ididit steering wheel fronts a column-mounted Sunpro 8k-rpm tachometer as well as factory instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. AutoMeter gauges for oil pressure and voltage are housed in a pod affixed underneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 94k miles.
The 292ci Y-block V8 was rebuilt under prior ownership, a process that is said to have included a .030 overbore resulting in a revised displacement of 297 cubic inches. Under current ownership, the following components reportedly have been fitted:
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission and a narrowed Ford 9″ rear axle with 3.25:1 gearing and replacement bearings.
