This 1956 Ford Thunderbird was delivered new to J.W. Burch and Son of La Habra, California and spent time in Michigan before being acquired by the seller in Florida in 2018. The car is finished in white over a red and white interior and powered by a 292ci V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a red soft top, rear fender skirts, an AM radio, and dual exhaust. A refurbishment was reportedly completed under prior ownership, while work carried out during current ownership consisted of rebuilding the rear axle and replacing the U-joints and soft top.
Finished in Colonial White (E) from the factory, the car reportedly received replacement body panels and a repaint as part of a refurbishment carried out in the early 1990s. Features include a removable body-matched hardtop, rear fender skirts, and a Continental kit.
Steel 15″ wheels wear polished covers and are mounted with older 6.70-inch wide Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewall tires.

Instrumentation includes a 150-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows under 500 miles, approximately 400 of which have been added by the seller. Total mileage is unknown.
The 292ci V8 was factory rated at 202 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque. A replacement fuel sending unit was installed in 2019 and the cooling system was flushed in preparation for the sale.
Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. Replacement U-joints were installed and the driveshaft repaired in 2020 by Dependable Driveshaft of Clearwater, Florida, while the 3.73 Dana rear axle was overhauled in 2019 by GearWorks of Clearwater, Florida.
The original delivery invoice shows the factory options and a total price of $2,617.57.
