Cameo truck models were equipped with molded fiberglass outer bedsides and outer tailgate skins. This example was refinished in red and ivory in the late 1980s. Additional work reportedly included refurbishing the trim and brightwork and installing a wood-lined bed with polished stainless hardware.
Aftermarket 15″ Rally-style steel wheels wear faux knock-off spinners are mounted with Goodyear Eagle GA tires. The suspension and brakes are said to have been overhauled during the 1980s refurbishment work.
The interior was reportedly refurbished during the build and features a bench seat trimmed in red patterned cloth with white accents. The cabin’s metal surfaces are painted in red and white, and equipment includes dual sun visors, a cabin heater, and a later Impala-style steering wheel.
Instrumentation includes a horizontal-sweep 100-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer that shows just over 45k miles.
The rebuilt 327ci V8 was reportedly sourced from a 1966 Corvette and installed during the build in the 1980s. A chrome air cleaner housing and script valve covers are installed. The seller notes that an oil change was performed in December 2020.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission and a rear axle that is said to have been sourced from a 1969 Camaro.
