This 1962 Chevrolet Impala hardtop was acquired by the seller’s family approximately 30 years ago, and subsequent refurbishment work included removing the body from the frame, refinishing the car in orange, and completing a custom black leather and cloth interior. This 1962 Chevrolet Impala hardtop was acquired by the seller’s family approximately 30 years ago, and subsequent refurbishment work included removing the body from the frame, refinishing the car in orange, and completing a custom black leather and cloth interior. Power comes from a 383ci stroker V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and other equipment includes aftermarket 18″ wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, a modified suspension with front and rear coilovers, tubular front control arms, rack-and-pinion steering, dual exhaust, a Be Cool Radiator, Dakota Digital gauges, and a Kenwood stereo.
The body is said to have been removed from the frame before being refinished in orange with a black taillight panel. Features include chrome-finished bumpers and trim, side moldings, and rocker-panel trim as well as added SS badging and a dual exhaust system that terminates below the rear bumper.
Gray-finished 18″ five-spoke Rev wheels are mounted over four-piston Wilwood disc brakes at each corner. The suspension has been modified, with tubular front control arms and adjustable coilovers utilized front and rear. Rack-and-pinion steering has been added up front.
The interior features bucket seats and a rear bench with matching black leather upholstery, cloth inserts, and orange stitching. Black carpeting is protected by matching mats with orange piping, and SS badges have been affixed to the console, glovebox door, and between the rear seats. A Kenwood stereo is mounted in the factory location.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames a gauge cluster that is surrounded by leather trim that matches the seats and door panels. Dakota Digital instrumentation includes a horizontal 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and four auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows approximately 400 miles, reflecting distance aLumulated since completion of the build.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
