This 1962 Land Rover 88 Series IIA was acquired by the seller in Canada in 1970 and underwent a body-off refurbishment in 2003 that included an overhaul to the suspension, installation of a galvanized chassis, and replacement of the exhaust, fuel tank, and radiator. Refinished in gray over green vinyl, the truck is powered by a 2.25-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Additional equipment includes a removable hardtop, steel bumpers, Superwinch locking front hubs, and a heater box.
Following the refurbishment, the aluminum body panels were refinished in gray and the removable hardtop was painted silver. Features include sliding front windows, fender-mounted mirrors, a folding windshield, taillight guards, steel bumpers, and an axe and shovel affixed to the rear tailgate.
Wolf-style 16″ steel wheels are finished in black and mounted with 235/85 Interco TrXus M/T tires. The truck is equipped with Superwinch locking front hubs, and the seller reports replacement of the shock absorbers and leaf springs during the 2003 refurbishment. The front wheel cylinders were reportedly replace in May 2021.
The interior features three individual front seats upholstered in green vinyl in addition to gray door panels, a heater box, and Series-branded rubber floor mats.
A black three-spoke steering wheel fronts a metal dash that houses centrally-mounted Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 75-mph speedometer and gauges displaying amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles.
The 2.25-liter inline-four was reportedly overhauled during the refurbishment, and power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
The truck was reportedly fitted with a Rovers North-sourced galvanized chassis in 2003 along with a replacement fuel tank and exhaust system.
