This 1963 Mercedes-Benz 220SE is said to have been imported to the US from Europe in 1970, and it was acquired by the seller in 2019. The car is finished in white with a black soft top over a red interior, and power is supplied by a 2.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes US-spec headlights, driving lights, chrome bodyside trim, 14″ wheels with polished covers, and a cassette stereo.
The car was finished from the factory in White (050) and was repainted its current shade approximately 15 years ago. Exterior features include a black soft top, a red boot cover, twin side mirrors, US-spec headlights, driving lamps, a grille badge, a polished exhaust outlet, and chrome bodyside, rocker panel, and wheel arch trim.
Steel 14” wheels wear polished covers with body-color centers and are mounted with 185-series Yokohoma Super Van 356 tires. A brake fluid flush was performed in 2021.
The interior features red leather seating surfaces along with matching carpeting and door panels. Wood trim accents the center console, dashboard, and A-pillars, and additional amenities include a Kenwood cassette stereo, a locking glove compartment, and an analog clock. The headliner is said to have been recently replaced.
The ivory-color steering wheel has a chrome horn ring and shows cracks. Instrumentation consists of a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, a 210-km/h speedometer, and vertically-oriented auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 96k kilometers (~60k miles).
The 2.2-liter M127 inline-six features Bosch mechanical fuel injection and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service performed in 2021 reportedly includes replacement of hoses, fluids, and the fan belt.
