This 1963 Triumph Spitfire Mk 1 was purchased new from Clarke Simpkins Ltd. of Vancouver, British Columbia, and remained with its first owner until the seller’s acquisition in August 2021. Between 1998 and 1999, bodywork and rust repairs were completed and the body was repainted in black, while the factory red interior was preserved and reinstalled. Power comes from an 1,147cc inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes chrome 13″ wire wheels, bullet mirrors, chrome bumpers with overriders, a black soft top, and a tonneau cover. Service completed in preparation for the sale consisted of replacing the fuel tank and rubber fuel lines along with an oil change.
Replacement floor pans, rocker panels, and rear quarter panels are said to have been installed in 1998-1999 before the bodywork was completed and the black paint was applied.
Retrofitted chrome-clad 13″ wire wheels wear Michelin RainForce MX4 tires. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums.
The interior features bucket seats upholstered in red vinyl with white piping as well as matching red door panels and rear cockpit trim. The seller notes that the factory carpets and interior were reinstalled following the body’s refurbishment. Amenities include a heater, an ash tray, under-dash storage compartments, and a grab handle located on the passenger side of the dashboard.
The central cluster features Jaeger instrumentation including a 110-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 67k miles.
The 1,147cc inline-four with twin SU carburetors sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A replacement fuel tank, fuel filter, and rubber fuel lines have been installed under current ownership, and the car received an oil change in preparation for the sale.
An owner’s handbook, original purchase documents, and service records are included in the sale.
