This 1965 Morgan Plus 4 is a green-over-black convertible that is powered by a 2,138cc inline-four mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a tonneau cover, dual carburetors, a woodgrain dashboard, and 15″ knock-off wire wheels. The car was refurbished in the early 2000s, and it was acquired by the seller’s brother in 2012 and passed on to the seller in 2021. Work performed since 2012 included replacement of the head gasket, spark plugs, wheel bearings, battery, and thermostat, as well as installation of four Vredestein tires.
The seller states that the exterior was refinished in its current shade of green during a refurbishment performed in the early 2000s, and equipment includes a fixed windshield, a third brake light, a left-side mirror, and chrome bumpers and trim.
Painted 15″ wire wheels with two-eared knockoffs are mounted with Vredestein tires that were installed in 2015. A matching spare is affixed to the rear of the car. The front and rear wheel bearings were replaced in June 2019 along with the rear brake shoes, brake master cylinder, and brake fluid reservoir.
The interior features low-back bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, along with lap belts, a dashboard-mounted rear-view mirror, and a glove compartment housed in the woodgrain dashboard panel.
The three-spoke steering wheel features a wood rim and frames Smiths instrumentation that includes a 6k-rpm tachometer, a combination gauge, and a 140-mph speedometer. 13k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer.
The Triumph-sourced 2,138cc inline-four features dual carburetors and a polished valve cover, and was factory rated at 105 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. Services performed since 2012 by JP Motors of Woodbridge, Connecticut include replacement of the following components:
