This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was manufactured in September 1965, delivered new to Wilkerson Chevrolet, Inc. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and spent time with six owners before being acquired by the seller in December 2020. Power comes from a numbers-matching 327ci V8 paired with a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission, and the car is finished in silver over a black interior. Additional features include a Delco push-button AM/FM radio, air conditioning, power-assisted steering and brakes, electric windows, side pipes, and 15” knock-off turbine wheels.
Fiberglass bodywork was finished in Silver Pearl (986) when new, and was repainted in 1983. Factory-style side pipes were also installed by a previous owner, and the seller will include a set of rocker panel moldings in addition to a replacement silver rear-exit exhaust valance with chrome bezels as part of the sale.
Reproduction turbine-style wheels added under previous ownership are secured with three-eared knock-off spinners and wear 205/70-15 Michelin Symmetry whitewall tires. A steel five-lug spare is found in the rear storage area, and a jack and a knock-off hammer are housed under the trunk floor. The car was optioned with power-assisted steering and brakes from new.
The cockpit features bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl along with a matching double-hump dash, door panels, carpets, and Corvette-branded floor mats. Factory amenities include air conditioning along with a vertically-mounted Delco push-button AM/FM radio, a clock, and electric windows.
A wood-look steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level, battery charge, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles.
The 327ci V8 was rebuilt with a .030″ overbore as well as new bearings and reconditioned cylinder heads in 1984 at 76k indicated miles. The engine is fed by a replacement carburetor from 1976 that was overhauled in February 2021. A replacement Holley carburetor manufactured in September 1965 is included in the sale. An oil change is said to have been performed approximately 300 miles ago.
The HO engine code suffix to the right indicates a 327ci V8 with a factory rating of 300 horsepower for use with an automatic transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and a 3.36:1 differential.
The window sticker shows factory colors and options as well as a 1966 total price of $5,396.85.
