This 1966 Porsche 912 coupe is said to have been sold new in California and relocated to Colorado in the late 1990s where it was subsequently repainted in its current silver metallic finish. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2010 and is powered by a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four equipped with dual Weber carburetors and mated to a five-speed manual transaxle. Additional equipment includes a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an analog clock, an ambient temperature gauge, an aftermarket AM/FM radio, replacement bucket seats with Pepita cloth inserts, four-point harnesses, and 15″ vented steel wheels. Service performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change, an ignition system tune-up, replacing the valve cover gaskets, and repairing the brakes.
The car was delivered new in Silver Metallic (6206) and was reportedly repainted in its current finish under previous ownership. Features include a driver-side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, and chrome bumper guards.
Chrome-finished 15″ vented steel wheels wear Porsche-crest hubcaps and are mounted with Nexen SB802 tires. The brake calipers were rebuilt, the rear brake pads were replaced, and a brake fluid flush was performed in July 2021.
The cabin features replacement front bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette with Pepita cloth inserts and joined by a matching dash pad and door panels as well as salt and pepper carpets. Amenities include brushed dash trim, four-point harnesses, and an aftermarket AM/FM radio with an auxiliary input connected to speakers mounted under the dash.
The four-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts green-letter VDO instrumentation consisting of a central tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, an ambient temperature gauge, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 43k miles.
The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four is equipped with a pair of Weber carburetors. The oil pressure sender, ignition coil, and both crankcase gaskets were replaced in April 2014. Work performed in preparation for the sale included an oil change, an ignition system tune-up, carburetor adjustments, and installation of replacement valve cover gaskets.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch was rebuilt with a replacement clutch pressure plate and clutch disc in April 2014, and a replacement flywheel, flywheel gland nut, and release bearings were also installed at that time.
