This 1967 Land Rover 109 Series IIA pickup truck was acquired by the seller out of Cooperstown, New York, in 2017 as an incomplete refurbishment project that had already been repainted in red and mounted on a replacement galvanized frame. Since that time, an Exmoor canvas top has been installed, the steering and suspension have been rebuilt, and the carburetor, fuel pump, wheels, tires, and front seats have been replaced. Equipment includes a heater/defroster and an under-seat toolbox. The truck is powered by a 2.25-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case, and the engine and differential oils were changed in preparation for the sale.
The truck is said to have been refinished in its original shade of Poppy Red with a Limestone roof under previous ownership and is mounted on a replacement galvanized frame sourced from Rovers North. Replacement doors are also from Rovers North, and the windshield frame, the door and bed caps, and rear corner trim have been powdercoated gray. An Exmoor Trim ¾-length Deep Weave Classic tan canvas top and a replacement hoop set were installed in 2021. Additional features include a steel front bumper, a wire mesh grille, replacement signal lights, fender-mounted mirrors, a sliding rear window, and rear bumperettes. Five tie-downs are affixed to each side of the bed, with three on the drop-down tailgate.
Replacement 16″ steel wheels are powdercoated white and wrapped in Michelin 4×4 O/R XZL tires that were mounted in June 2018; a matching spare is located on the hood. A rebuild of the suspension and steering rack in June 2018 included replacement of all four leaf springs, the shackle plates, and the U-bolts, along with the ball joints.
The refreshed interior features a Britpart Deluxe seat kit consisting of three-wide bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, as well as replacement black vinyl floor covers and carpet mats. A Kodiak heater mounted beneath the dash feeds a pair of Mansfield defroster pans mounted to the inside of the windshield alongside hand-switched Lucas wiper motors. A replacement under-seat toolbox assembly has been installed, and the heater-core lines have been replaced.
The three-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and fronts a body-color dash housing a 75-mph Jaeger speedometer, a Jaeger amperage/fuel-level gauge, and a Smiths oil-pressure/coolant-temperature gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 40k miles.
The gasoline-fueled 2.25-liter inline-four is equipped with a Zenith 36 IV carburetor. The fuel pump, the carburetor, and the battery have been replaced under current ownership, and the engine and differential oils were changed in April 2021.
Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox and a dual-range transfer case.
