This 1967 Plymouth GTX convertible is a running and driving project powered by a 440ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car is finished in red over black upholstery and features 14″ Magnum 500-style wheels, a soft top frame, a Holley carburetor, a dual exhaust, power-assisted brakes and steering, a push-button radio, and an aftermarket radio. The car was acquired by the seller in May 2020, and work performed since is said to have included flushing the coolant, changing the engine oil, and replacing the fuel tank, fuel lines and filter, and the spark plugs and wires.
Originally finished in white, the body was repainted red under previous ownership, and the seller notes the presence of body filler. A convertible top frame and mechanism are retained, although no fabric is present. Additional features include simulated hood scoops, bright-finished trim, chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust.
Magnum 500-style 14″ wheels are mounted with 225/70 Goodyear Eagle ST tires that exhibit cracking. Braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel drums.
The interior is partially stripped and is retains front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black along with a matching dashboard and door panels. Features include power steering, a heater, front vent windows, a locking glove compartment, a push-button radio, and an aftermarket radio below the dash. No carpeting is fitted, and corrosion is present on the floors.
The three-spoke steering wheel exhibits cracking and fronts a 150-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer displays 85k miles.
The 440ci Super Commando V8 was factory rated at 375 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Induction is handled by a Holley carburetor, and work performed under current ownership is said to have included flushing the coolant, changing the oil, and replacing the fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel filter, and spark plugs and wires.
