This 1968 Dodge Dart GTS hardtop was built on April 12, 1968, and spent time in Maryland and Pennsylvania before it was moved to California and purchased by the seller in 2018. The car is finished in blue with a black vinyl top over black vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 340ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include front bucket seats, a center console, an AM radio, a PerTronix ignition system, and an aftermarket exhaust system. A rebuild of the four-barrel carburetor was performed under current ownership.
The car was delivered from the factory in Bright Blue Metallic with a black vinyl roof. Features include chrome bumpers, black body-side sport stripes, and a driver-side mirror. Replacement GTS badges and hood louvers were installed under current ownership.
The 14″ Rallye wheels feature chrome trim rings and are mounted with Kelly Charger white-letter radial tires. A spare wheel is mounted under the trunk floor. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl, along with matching door panels and carpets. Features include a center console with an inoperable tachometer, an AM radio, a heater, and three-point front seat belts. The carpets and headliner show areas of discoloration.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph sweep speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows under 51k miles.
The 340ci V8 was repainted by Four Star Automotive of South San Francisco, California, in September 2018, and was fitted with replacement exhaust manifolds, a thermostat, hoses, valve cover gaskets, and engine mounts at that time. A PerTronix ignition system and Flame-Thrower ignition coil were also fitted. A rebuild of the four-barrel carburetor was reportedly performed within the last 200 miles.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a TorqueFlite 727 three-speed automatic transmission. A new transmission mount was fitted in September 2018, and a fuel tank vent was fabricated and installed.
