This 1968 Ford Bronco was acquired by the seller in January 2016 as a non-running project, and a subsequent three-year refurbishment was completed in 2021. Work included rust repair, repainting the truck in gray, renewing the interior with Tom’s Offroad Premium black bucket seats, and installing a rebuilt 5.0-liter V8 and four-speed Ford AOD automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes a two-speed transfer case, a half-cab roof, Holley Terminator X engine management, a lifted suspension with Bilstein shocks, 17″ Method wheels wrapped in 35″ tires, aftermarket bumpers, LED lighting, power steering, front disc brakes, and a RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth connectivity.
The body-off refurbishment included rust repair, filling the antenna hole, adding a 2″ body lift, and replacing the cowl, floor pans, and rocker panels. The truck was repainted in Ford Avalanche Gray and features a satin black half-cab roof along with a matching tailgate insert, windshield frame, and grille with red Ford lettering.
Additional exterior details include cut fenders with body-color Gorilla War flares, LED headlights, powder-coated Tom’s Offroad bumpers, a receiver hitch, and an LED light bar. A magnetic satellite radio antenna is mounted to the hood. The windshield, gaskets, and rubber seals were replaced during the refurbishment.
Matte black 17″ Method wheels are mounted with 35×12.5″ BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires showing 2019 date codes, and a matching spare is installed in the bed. The truck is equipped with a track bar drop bracket, power steering, a steering stabilizer, and a 3.5″ suspension lift with Bilstein shocks. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The seller notes that the steering components were renewed and the brake lines, brake pedal assembly, and parking brake hardware have been replaced.
The cabin features replacement black bucket seats along with matching door panel inserts and carpets sourced from Tom’s Offroad. Equipment includes a locking center console, wing windows, lap belts, a tilt steering column, and a RetroSound stereo with a hidden antenna connected to Pioneer speakers in the footwells. The heater box hardware and switchgear have been replaced.
An aftermarket steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for voltage and coolant temperature. A display for the Holley Terminator X fuel injection system is magnetically mounted to the left of the speedometer. The five-digit odometer was reset during the refurbishment and now shows 24 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 5.0-liter V8 was reportedly sourced from a 1980s Ford Thunderbird and rebuilt, and the seller notes that the cylinders have been bored oversize. Features include an aftermarket air intake, Bronco-script valve covers, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and tubular exhaust headers connected to a custom stainless steel exhaust system. Additional work completed during the refurbishment included replacing the engine accessories, wiring harness, battery and tie-down, and coolant overflow and washer bottles.
The seller states that the truck is equipped with a rebuilt four-speed Ford AOD automatic transmission paired with a Dana 20 two-speed transfer case, custom Wild Horses driveshafts, a rebuilt Dana 44 front axle, and a rebuilt Ford 9″ rear axle. Both axles are said to be fitted with 4.56:1 gearing. The 23-gallon fuel tank was sourced from Tom’s Offroad, and the sending unit and fuel lines were also replaced.
