This 1970 Ford Mustang was acquired by the seller in 2010 and has since been modified with installation of a supercharged 4.6-liter V8 from a 2004 Mustang Cobra along as well as a five-speed Tremec TKO-600 manual transmission and a 9″ rear axle with a limited-slip differential. The car was repainted in its current blue finish and the black interior features a Cobra-sourced instrument panel and steering wheel. Additional equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, a Hurst shifter, power rack-and-pinion steering, a coilover suspension system, Wilwood disc brakes, and 16″ Magnum 500-style wheels.
The body was repainted in its current blue under current ownership and features a black hood treatment, tail panel, rear spoiler, and side mirrors.
Magnum 500-style 16″ wheels are mounted with a mix of BFGoodrich front and Mickey Thompson rear tires. The car features a coilover suspension system, power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering, and Wilwood disc brakes with four-piston calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners.
The cockpit is equipped with high-back bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl and joined by matching carpets with rubber inserts in the footwells covers the floors. Equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, a Hurst shifter, and intermittent windshield wipers.
The car features a Mustang Cobra airbag steering wheel, steering column, and instrument panel. Instrumentation includes an SVT-branded tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows just under 1,300 miles, which is said to reflect the mileage added by the seller since completion of the project. Total mileage is unknown.
The supercharged 4.6-liter V8 was reportedly sourced from a 2004 Mustang Cobra, which was factory rated at 390 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. The engine retains its wiring harness, and additional work performed as part of the build included replacing the starter, radiator, power-steering pump, air-conditioning compressor, and condenser. The car also features a dual exhaust system.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed Tremec TKO-600 manual transmission, an aluminum driveshaft, and a 9″ rear axle with a limited-slip differential and a 3.73:1 final-drive ratio. The bellhousing, flywheel, and clutch assembly were replaced as part of the drivetrain installation along with the fuel pump and fuel tank.
