This 1972 Triumph TR6 was acquired by the seller approximately three years ago and subsequently underwent a body-off refurbishment that was completed in 2020. Work included powder coating the frame, repainting the body, and refreshing the interior, as well as overhauling the 2.5-liter inline-six, dual carburetors, four-speed manual transmission, and overdrive unit. Finished in blue over tan, the car is equipped with wire-spoke 15″ wheels, a Lecarra steering wheel, a stainless-steel exhaust system, a replacement walnut dashboard panel, and a tan soft top with a zip-out rear window.
Finished from the factory in Saffron Yellow, the body was removed from the frame and refinished in its current shade of blue in 2018. A replacement tan soft top with a zip-out rear window was installed, along with stainless steel bumpers and replacement rubber weather stripping and window channels. Additional equipment includes TR6 decals on the rear quarter panels, a bullet-style driver’s side mirror, and a flush-mount antenna.
Painted knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in a set of Michelin redline tires. According to the seller, the front brake calipers were rebuilt while the pads, rotors, lines, rear drums, shoes, and wheel cylinders were replaced. Replacement suspension bushings were also installed, along with ball joints, wheel bearings, and springs.
The interior was reupholstered from black to tan and features high-back seats with matching door panels and carpets. A replacement Walnut Beryl dashboard panel was also installed, and a radio blanking plate is fitted in the center stack.
A leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with chrome trim rings. The five-digit odometer indicates 43k miles.
The 2.5L inline-six was rebuilt and bored .030″ over by Baril Engine Rebuilding of Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2018, and work included replacing the pistons, bearings, valves, and guides, as well as resurfacing the cylinder head and polishing the crankshaft. The dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors were rebuilt in 2020 by Paltech Technologies of Brunswick, Ohio. The wiring harness was reportedly refurbished and a spin-on oil filter adapter and stainless-steel exhaust system were added.
The four-speed manual transmission and overdrive unit were rebuilt by British Miles of Morrisville, Pennsylvania in 2018, and the flywheel was also resurfaced.
